SF People: Decriminalize prostitution by voting YES on Prop. K
Sunday, October 26th, 2008Aside from the sweet Only-in-San-Franciscoatude this Proposition is, the general hypothesis is that if de-prioritizing prosecution/arrest of prostitutes it allows more focus on violent crime, and it would allow hookers (sex workers) to more freely seek assitance (like violent crime against them).
a lot of people say this and that about everything, and both sides have all these arguments. but ideally (if you could somehow mitigate effects of populus migration and/or somehow divise a blind test) AB testing this type of thing would really be the best way to determine if it increases or decreases related crimes such as pimps, drugs, violent crime against sex workers (slappin hoes, etc).
if you dont know how to perform an AB test or the scientific method, i cant imagine how you can even begin to form any sort of rational argument, you’re just clearly a fuckin idiot. (ask yourself — do you know the scientific method?)
then again though, the whole legalization of medicinal marijuana is clearly a joke, every person i’ve ever known who has a weed card is clearly just using it to get high as fuck (although they arent doin anything wrong to no one, and they all have real jobs that pay fat dollars) so in the end, although all they are doin is gettin high on drugs, it aint that big a deal.
