Po’ Boys aren’t Hamburgers, but…

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

I’d just like to mention that I just had another Po’ Boy sandwich at Brenda’s on Polk St. and they are freakin’ delicious.  Delicious enough to be an honarary hamburger and thus deserve a hamburger post.

Every Sunday is DJing, Podcast and BYOB day

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

We’ve always hung out with friends on Sundays at 20 GOTO 10 and this is the 2nd week of our MicroMusic podcast so I’ve decided to officially make Sundays the hang-out, drink beer and listen to music day.  All are welcome, and if you want to DJ just shoot us an email.  Every Sunday 3-6PM.

free software is ugly

Sunday, February 17th, 2008

sometimes i cant look at anything visually pleasing without convincing myself its far too commercial.

sometimes i imagine stabbing my own eyes out in protest to this non-sense.

maybe i should grow a unix beard and support free software.

MicroMusic @ Mighty

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

If you are into micromusic / toymod / mod tracking / 8-bit / videogame music, you should support the MicroMusic SF HQ and go to their launch party at Mighty on Thursday, Feb 7th. I’m personally into these kinda fun jams. Pretty reminiscent of old C64 demos.

Here’s the flier

ANSI Closing

Monday, January 28th, 2008

This Thursday-Sunday are the last days for you to come see the ANSI exhibit if you haven’t gotten a chance to do so yet, and then its art history. After that, 20 GOTO 10 is back to business as usual. No more excessive publicity and ridiculously packed openings.

facebook == fail

Monday, January 21st, 2008

btw, i just got a facebook spam (the “check out my website, i have naked pictures there” kinda spam). all of you who ever praised the website for not having spam, you’re dumb, it just takes a small amount of time.

Sushi Ban

i ban all sushi from san francisco.

Web of Failure

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

The valuation of these web 2.0 companies now are ridiculous.  Facebook apps like Superwall being appraised at $10million is pretty ridiculous.  Exponential growth, viral marketing, no real revenue, no profit? I never heard of that before; that didn’t just happen less than 10 years ago.  I sort of remember a person who is known for being wrong all the time saying, well facebook is sort of different, they don’t look like geocities pages and they don’t have spam.  I’ve since been wondering what to call these 124 application invites I get daily.

Burrito Partisan

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

I declare war on contemporary burrito ideology brought here from afar.

War is declared on the following things: Super Burritos (if the regular burrito isn’t already awesome) shit a la mode is still shit amirite? Burritos without cilantro. Burritos with black beans. Partial blame on all burritos made after the 1989 earthquake. Taquerias with salsa bars. Taquerias without radishes. Any talk about burritos on Yelp. The fact that “Mom Is Cooking” closed down. Taquerias without whole jalepenos en escabeche. People who respond but did not have a burrito before 1989. Taquerias with more than one location (taco trucks excluded). Taquerias with too many choices of tortilla and beans. Taquerias with gimmicks such as ‘no rice on burritos’. Burritos on plates or without foil. People who ride fixed gear bikes but don’t own cars.

Burrito high-fives are given to the following things: Taquerias with jalepenos en escabeche, salsa, radishes directly available on all tables. Taquerias that serve tripas. Taquerias with arcade units inside. Taco trucks on international blvd in Oakland. Taquerias with beer+lady+soccer team posters on the walls. Corner stores that happen to also sell burritos. Taquerias in South City. Tortillas from La Tapatia. Carnitas sold by weight. Drive through liquor stores in 415/510/650. People eating tacos on the street.
